Fläkt Woods is pushing ahead with the integration of its range of ClimaFläkt chillers into the UK market portfolio and has recently delivered a massive 800 kW unit to the North Wales Theatre in Llandudno.

Fläkt Woods has a broad product range and expertise to cover all air climate needs. In the UK, the company is now focussing strongly on cooling solutions. Specifically, this means marke-ting the range of ClimaFläkt chillers alongside AHU and chilled beams to provide complete air climate solutions.

The ClimaFläkt chiller range has both air and water cooled models with various compressor solutions including rotary, scroll, single and twin screws with refrigerant options.

Energy savings

The focus on saving energy in buildings has never been more important. With multi-scroll compressors and non-ozone depleting refrigerant R410A, the new range of ClimaFläkt chillers achieves an average COP of 4.2 with energy savings up to 35% considerably reducing running costs and meeting the new EC directive for energy efficiency ratios.

Low noise levels, easy installation and maintenance are also key features of the new chillers, which are available with microprocessor control, electronic expan-sion valves, three low noise versions, hydraulic pump packs for plug and play installation. All units are available in heat pump or ‘free cooling’ version.


Cooling for free

Free cooling is becoming more and more popular. A ‘free cooling’chiller features compressors, condensers and evapo-rators, but also includes an integral drycooler circuit. This type of chiller constantly monitors the ambient temperature, so once this falls below the chilled water tempe-rature, free cooling is activated. Thus, maximum effect and substantial energy savings and running costs can be achieved.

North Wales Theatre

Fläkt Woods has delivered a new ClimaFläkt chiller with a cooling capacity of 800 kW to North Wales Theatre in Llandudno. The unit has a new microprocessor control and electronic expansion valves which continually adapt the chiller operating parameters to the load conditions of the system, reducing energy consumption and noise while the working life of the parts increases.The unit was also supplied com-pletewith twin pumps, expansion and buffer vessels for a total solution along acrylic coated coils for coastal application.
