The question of energy is something that effects everyone

The Öman group from Växjö, with offices in Jönköping were the people who helped Nexans with their ventilation problem. "These units cost a lot of money, but fortunately customers have started to understand the advantages they have. The question of energy is something that effects everyone nowadays, and here we have a product that radically reduces running costs,"says Andreas Leo, Office manager for the Öman group in Jönköping.

We don't yet know exactly how large the energy savings will be, but our calculations point at about 65 per cent. When it comes to this type of complex solution, Fläkt Woods are very good. This may not have been the cheapest solution initially, but over the system's life time it's definitely both the best and the most financially profitable solution. We asked a number of suppliers, just to see what the market had to offer, but it was actually only Fläkt Woods who could fulfilall the demands we had", says Andreas Leo.

Nexans IKO from Sweden is an industrial company that needed a new ventilation unit –the old one was from 1975. If Nexans had chosen the unit based on just purchase price, they probably wouldn't have chosen Fläkt Woods. However, if the cost over the lifetime of the product is calculated, you get a completely different result!

The air handling unit is a type EU for outdoor installation with a built-in service way. The system is equip-pedwith a liquid-based recycling and mixing unit. The demands ranged from low running costs to service flexibility.

Service was also something that Nexans' property manager, Donald Haraldsson, was very interested in.

"The unit is mounted on the roof, so it's important to us that service can be performed both comfortably and practically. It should also be easy to perform and the built-in service way will help a great deal. Our old unit was so old that it needed replacing just due to its age. It didn't have anything like the advanced features that modern units have, such as heat recycling. Choosing a simpler solution than the one we have chosen might have been cheaper initially. But we are convinced that the lower running costs will repay the investment we made now,"says Donald Haraldsson.
